Acrylic on 2 canvases - gallery wrap, deep
96" W x 24"H
This painting was quite an experience for me. At 8 feet wide, 'August' is one of the largest canvas paintings I have done to date. This painting was also a challenge to in trying to convey not only the portrait but also what that subject is seeing. In the reflection of the glasses you will see the suggestion of a skyline, specifically the skyline of pre 9/11 New York. This image is complimented by the industrial textures on the far sides pushing inwards completing this expressive realism of the piece.
